Anytime that these celebrities do anything outside of their work is only to promote their image and to profit from it somehow.

If this wasn't the case then you would never hear a word about making donations to what charity.

If he did 50-100 make a wishes and talked about them all the time I would stay say he deserves an "atta boy" and a pat on the back but maybe you have a point. Visiting with over 460 kids... He didn't have to do that.

It's like Chris Pratt and Chris Evans, they don't have to get in costumes and put a smile on a kids face, they choose to. Think that a couple of hundred kids who died of tragic illnesses, at least got to feel love from their favorite star or hero before they passed. To us adults that may not mean much, but imagine your hero as a child coming to see you. That's amazing and the Make a Wish foundation has always been a great charity. John Cena would have to be on Chris Benoit's level to tarnish that IMO.

I once saw John Goodman go off on a guy at the City Park golf driving range, and he is one of the nicest guys ever.
People have off days. I'm sure everyone here has been a jerk or an arse unintentionally and ruined our image in the minds of a person we don't know.

Damn dude. You must be a jealous, pro-socialist, anti-Cena person, eh?

That guy worked hard for his success and deserves to spend his riches as he wishes. He is in the lime light because that is what wrasslers do. Play a persona for a living.

Not a socialist, I think people are entitled to their money that they earned. Just don't be a phony and act like you are so generous just to promote your image, which is ultimately for personal gratification.

I guess you can say I am "anti-Cena", at the moment, but I could very well become "pro-Cena" in the future. I like to think I'm a fair person. If he stops broadcasting his "charitable" acts, that would be a start.

His constituency in pro wrestling, on the other hand, mostly wants him to go away.

People still watch pro wrestling?

Until I read that article, I had no idea he had fulfilled 460+ Make-A-Wish requests. He hasn't broadcasted it very well.

Why would he broadcast one at a time? Would you really give a shite then? He clearly waited until he got past 400 so he could make himself look even better.

So he spent 1000s of hours across many years fulfilling these wishes just so he could announce the aggregate total in a less than mainstream magazine article? Talk about an inefficient long con.

Just speaks volumes about his true character...for some reason the OT doesn't see it. I think you get the picture now which is good to hear.

I guess you don't understand the concept of platforms huh?

You know a celebrity using a platform to generate interest in a charity. By broadcasting his charitable acts he in turn generates charitable acts.

Since you mentioned sins and shite, I assume you are a religious whacko so answer me this.

Why isn't preaching considered hypocrisy since it is literally broadcasting a "self" image to the masses to generate interest/following?

I occasionally look at wrestling around WM each year. I think the fans are probably just sick of him. When you think about the mega popular runs of the Rock, Stone COld, The NWO in WCW...those only lasted a few years. He has been the face of WWE for well over a decade now...it's just stale.

You mean, like those things you step on to get to an unreachable object? Help me out.

Whoa man, no need to get so angry like that. I'm not very religious. Why do you have to call me names?

My understanding of preaching is to spread the good word of the Lord. You know, kind of like how we are taught spelling and reading in school? Hmmm, who knows, I could be wrong I guess.
