The beer and food isnt that bad. Compared to other live entertainment events. Other concerts and sporting events the beer is much higher and I have never been to any music event that comes close to the food selection at jazz fest. Maybe Tbois for quality of food.

Actually the bottom half of that lineup which I assume will be in tents and on the Gentilly stage looks solid

I go every year (seen Earth Wind & Fire, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Wilco, B.B. King, Johnny Winters, Kings of Leon, Bon Jovi, Van Morrison, John Legend & the Roots, ect plus all my hometown favorites there), so come on, the doobie smoke was clearly a joke since Phish is loved (for good reason) by millions of pot heads all over the world. I like some Springsteen songs (especially "Born to Run), but I find much of it (especially the later stuff) dull. That's ok, everyone has different tastes. I don't like Robin Thick of Public Enemy, but I won't disparage someone who does. To each there own. Unfortunately, there just doesn't seem to be a lot of bands this year I really want to see. Hopefully, there wil be a last minute addition that I'll really want to go see. Otherwise, I might end up skipping it for the first time since high school.

As for those wondering who I would prefer to see, here's some examples:

Tower of Power
Rise Against
Alter Bridge
Blink 182
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Greenday
Robert Plant
Chicago
Iron Maiden
Mumford & Sons
Yellowcard
Stevie Wonder
Aerosmith
AC/DC
Rush
Streetlight Anthem
Streetlight Manifesto
Anberlin
The Black Keys
Metallica
Monster Truck
Van Halen

I could go all day

I'm looking into it. Not sure what I'll be doing in the summer, but a friend of mine might be doing a road trip to all the dates in Texas.

Actually no.

Pretty funny seeing the OT losers trying to discuss music

This lineup is absolutely incredible. One of the best ever assembled.

All I've said is that this lineup does little for me. Not enough for me to buy a ticket and put up with the crowds and pay exorbitant amounts for food and beer. I know music is a personal opinion so you can't satisfy everybody with any lineup. This year, just happens to be a year that I'm not satisfied and will not go.

Food is NOT exorbitantly priced. Come on. Thats BS. Now beer I will give you, is a rip off and a half.

Robert Plant? You mean the Robert Plant who is playing this year?

as for the others, you can't honestly expect to see Iron Maiden or Van Halen at fricking Jazz Fest. Sounds like you'd rather be at Voodoo Fest (nothing wrong with that). Don't blame Jazz Fest for not having a Voodoo lineup though.

You think you're so much cooler than everyone because you post on the Music Board all day?...

heady, tell these neckbeard betas that don't think it's a good lineup about the time you rode in a helicopter with Trey whats-his-face from Fish.

95% of the people that go to JF would go anyway no matter what the line up is.

Or should I say, The attendance numbers are's going to be the same pretty much every year as long as it doesn't rain no matter what the lineup is.

Personally I know about 100 people that go every year doesn't matter who's playing

Go start another lunch thread.

What is the point of those anyway? At least in music threads we introduce people to new artists and exchange shows, albums, and tracks.
