Yep what younger people don't realize is that we had like 5 channels before cable. You are right on Sundays it was a sports person's paradise: mid south wrestling, NBA and NFL when it was the season for them. Saturday morning cartoons man I was in heaven.
Simple times but good times until the oil industry went bust.

Brings back memories of the DDT Jake used during the Mid South days in the 80's. At least back then they went out of their way to make it look real.
Ah yes. Mid South Rasslin. The only thing that could get me up at 8am on a Sunday morning.

My brother is 10 yrs older than I am. I remember on Sundays we would get home from church & my brother would run inside to get ready for wrestling. He use to DDT the piss out of me.
10 years older isn't even fair unless you were AT LEAST 15 and he was a total turd. Is that how you ended up in the chair? If not and you were already in the chair that would be so fricked up, funny as hell but fricked up!

I was thinking the same thing, but figured he just posted that trying to draw attention and refused to comment on it.

I was laughing so hard imagining a 14 yr old walking up to a 4 year old cripple and DDT'ing right onto the living room floor. It's so funny to me because I imagine GCS is just like Eric The Midget, they both have that same shitty attitude, and picturing a 4 yr old ETM getting a DDT is the best!

Thanks for sending me on a two hour YouTube video binge concluding with Andre The Giants documentary.

Every Sunday, my grandpa used to bring me to my great grandma's, where my brother and I would eat some muhfrickin chicken necks while watching Brickhouse Brown on Mid South Wrestling.
But who used to watch AWA and Roller Derby back in the day? Sgt. Slaughter and the T-birds!

I know Ted Dibiase and Jake Roberts shared an apartment off Sharp rode right past Old Hammond Hwy for about a year - did the CowBoy Bill Watts mid south restlin' circle of Loranger, Gulfport, Alex, Lake Charles and Shreveport. They had a big fight break out after a sold out old Independence hall match Friday the day after Thanksgiving it was either in 79 or 80. Bruiser Bob Sweetan and Dick Murdock got drunk and starting throwing furniture in the swimming pool - cops were called - don't think anyone went to jail that night. I lived in the subdivision right across from the complex at that time - had a friend who was a BRPD officer who was one of the LEO answering the call that night/morning. Had a couple of fine looking wimmen in that bunch. He said.

Just watched the Giant's documentary. Good stuff.
Met him MSY at a bar back in 1990, cool guy. His fingers were almost as big as my wrists.

I used to go to matches at the Centroplex in BR. The wrestlers had a long walk from the dressing rooms to the ring and it was just open floor space. I forget who the wrestlers were but they started brawling on the floor and people from the audience surrounded them. One guy from the audience took a folding chair from the floor seating, folded it up, and flung it at the bad guys - I'm pretty sure it was Skandar Akbar - and it caught him in the back of the neck. Skandar went down to his knees for a bit but got back up and the match went on as scheduled. No one considered that the guy who threw the chair broke the law because Skandar deserves a chair to the back of the neck.

Sometimes we would go to my grandma & grandpa's on Sunday and my uncle (my mom had my brother and sister before my grandmother had her last kid) and brother use to get mad while watching wrestling and then mad at each other. I don't know the exact situation, but one time Lex Lugar lost, but whoever beat him cheated and my uncle got so mad he punched a hole in the wall. Then took off running out the house cussing. The my grandpa went outside and had to basically drag him in the house because he was pissed he punch the wall.. And they made us turn off wrestling and you could swear that was the worse thing someone could have done to another person..
Your uncle sounds like a Rhodes Scholar
