Blog describing it all 'Jackson Jambalaya'
Jackson free press
Anyone from Jackson familiar with this case. Seems like there was a good amount of press covering it.
The incident happened july 21st 2016 but the shooter Wayne Parish was let go at the time and then th indictment and arrest came earlier this week.

A Hinds County grand jury indicted Mr. Parish for first degree murder in the death of 17 year-old McDonald on October 28. A confrontation took place between the two men at the business when McDonald tried to steal a car.
quote:
The video shows McDonald walking down McDowell Road. His mother attempted to take him Henley-Young Youth Detention Center down the street but the troubled young man jumped out of the car and ran away. Troubled because his mother said he had been at Henley-Young eight times in the last two years. The video shows him walking across the property of Performance Oil. A Lexus ES350 attracted his interest. He picked up an object and apparently tried to smash open a window and gain access to the vehicle.
quote:
The video shows Mr. Parish coming out of the office and confronting McDonald. The police report states the Vice-President of Performance Oil was carrying a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver. Mr. Parish chases McDonald around the car. McDonald then charges at the businessman. There is a struggle and both men are apparently fighting over the gun. McDonald crumples to the ground when shots are fired as the rounds struck him in the upper torso.

Justifiable. Don't steal a man's property.

Kid tries to steal car
Man chances kid
Kid charges man
Man shoots kid
Man goes to jail
Sounds right

My wife is from Jackson and when we gave her mom an ipad for Christmas she wanted only one website bookmarked and saved as an icon: Jackson Jambalaya.
It's a local gossip site and doesn't have onbjective fact telling.
But this story does sound fricked up.

Have to read the facts of the case but I don't know how that;'s not stand your ground

Maybe it's because he came out and confronted him. I live in the area and am not familiar with the story. Sounds like there might be a "the rest of the story"...

Yea, Mississippi has some pretty strong gun laws too. This is probably just Jackson being Jackson and the appeals courts will take care of this case.

Yep, but after he loses his business and goes bankrupt.

Ain't no way the owner of the vehicle will do jail time.

FWIW, the owner of the Jackson Jambalaya blog is a frequent poster on Tiger Droppings...

Why was he charged with murder if this happened?

Yup, got to let him steal that car first...

Sounds like a productive man minding his own business was presented with a threat to his property and personal safety and he took care of it. Not sure this one goes anywhere except this guy gets free rounds for life from his buddies.

Thank you for saving us taxpayers thousands, Mr. Parish. We all owe you and your .38 plenty of praise.
Also... justified.
