Sounds like LSU fans won't recognize the place in a couple of months when you pass through there on the way to Starkville.

Mayor Lumumba has been in office for two weeks and improvements are already underway. As we discussed in previous editorials, focusing on some of the main entrances to the city by mowing the grass and fixing the potholes improves the experience of people who are visiting our state or capital city for the first time

I've learned to judge people on what they do, and to not listen much to what they say.

I think the guy is a total loon, but I'm not gonna fault him for cutting grass and fixing potholes. Hell, that's more that Mitch has done.

My post was about 50/50 sarcasm and hope he might do something to improve the place. I agree he's out there but maybe in the short term he will do some good while he's trying to build momentum for other things.

so......he's already done/doing more for Jackson, MS in 2 weeks than Sharon Broome has done for Baton Rouge, LA in 9 months and likely to do her entire term.

Have you been to Jackson lately? Of course it being Jackson chances are it was a bunch of relatives being paid $50/HR to mow.

A lot of powers to be think he is the first legit chance at progress in some time.

He had a solid backing, and I hope he can pull it off.

Shouldn't that be done regardless of the mayor's skin color?

Hopefully they fix those pot holes on 49S, they will rattle a man's teeth.

If that's progress then we are fricked.

That reminds me of the Chris Rock routine about black men bragging about how they had never been to jail.

Bahahahaha.

Give him a trophy for doing what he is supposed to do. Cutting grass and basic maintenance should not be grounds for a parade.

Question: who got paid the last year or so to cut the grass and fill the potholes? Obviously they s u c k at their job.
