Earlier today I counted 9 out of 10 drivers were on their phone, that's way too damn many. Texting and driving has always been bad, but it seems like it's an all time high. Not only texting but facebooking, watching YouTube, playing games, etc. This shite can't wait 15 minutes? Or until you get wherever it is you're going?

All it takes is someone to slam on their brakes, or switch lanes, one split second and you can get get injured or die. I think people legit can't get off their phones. It's scary to me that almost everybody on the road is driving distracted. It's just dumb when you think about it.

You should watch the road instead of other drivers.

Those other drivers could kill me dude. I wasn't even looking for it, it's just so damn obvious. Every time I go to switch lanes or anything I notice someone on their phone

It's one thing to check your phone when youre stuck at a redlight for 2 minutes. It's another when youre doing 70mph on 10 surrounded by tractor trailers.

Or seriously injure or kill someone else.

I've seen kids with serious, life-changing injuries at work from accidents where the cause was the driver messing with their phone.

On the flip side, all I have to do in my car is keep it on the road and the damn thing will basically drive itself. The adaptive cruise will come to a complete stop and the lane-change warning will let you know you're leaving your lane.

That being said, the cruise control only works on other vehicles and obviously won't stop at a red light if you're the first car. More importantly, it doesn't pick up small objects on the road. If you're looking down it will plow right into a 4x4 post or a tire tread if it is in the road.

My texting and driving is hampered not by my fear of wrecking the vehicle and it being my fault, but by the inability to be a defensive driver and getting hit by another idiot.

I only get on my phone when I'm sitting at a red light. I have no idea how anyone can possible look at their phone at the same time as while driving.

According to our safety department at work, statistics indicate that using the phone while driving is more hazardous than being drunk. We know the cops will subpoena your phone records and charges may be applied.

Have you noticed how often you see cars with damage down the sides like they sideswiped a barricade or another car? Last night on the news they were discussing how hands-free usage still increases the risk because we aren't concentrating on driving when we are on the phone.

I witnessed an accident at 75 mph and by the time I got to the scene both of the lucky 18yo occupants were out of the car and still looking at their phones. This stuff is dangerous
