This is a shitty thread and I'm a hoser...
I've been getting into hockey lately and recently some dude named Gordie Downie died, who apparently was a Canadian "rockstar" and everyone in Canada acted the same way Americans did with Tom Petty. I've never heard one song by this dude and every single Canadian adored this guy. How is that possible? I mean the Trudeau did a tribute for this guy and was crying.
But I find it weird that there is a country just above us that is essentially the same place. Like sometimes you find out someone is Canadian and you would have never known. Yet there is some invisible cultural embargo where nothing bleeds over from up there.
This is a major country that borders us with no language barrier and in 27 years ive learned the following...
Aboot
Hoser
they say "zed" not "Z"
Syrup
Tim Hortens
"Eh"
The first two lines of "Oh canada" cause it was on a mug i had
Oh...and my grandmother was born a Canadian lol.

Did yall know, in Canadian, you can bet NFL & other pro sports games at gas stations? Seriously, there are parts of Canada that allow you to go place bets on games.. Sort of like how people here go to the gas station to pick up lottery tickets.

I went up to Vancouver in early June for work. It was an awesome experience.

You ain't never heard of Alanis Morissette, Barenaked Ladies, Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, Neil Young, Shania Twain, or Rush?
Although they did give us Justin Bieber and Nickleback... so I guess the music category is a net negative for Canada.
