problem is in a lot of areas in south louisiana, the fireworks will continue until the end of next week

So you were pondering calling the cops on your neighbors for popping fireworks too late for your taste and keeping you awake, yet they have by your own admission stopped and you are still up quite some time later posting about it on TD. Sounds to me like you were just annoyed and are using the light sleeper excuse as exactly that, an excuse. Otherwise, you'd be asleep already.

Find the offending house.
Load up on loud mortar type fireworks.
Wait a week.
On a Tuesday around 2AM line them up in offending neighbors yard.
Light them.
Run.
Repeat every time neighbor has fireworks.
