Who doesn't know this, yet people still start everyday, fortunately that number is actually declining steadily.

I'll allow myself to light up if a buddy has one to offer... and again, feel the power of Hephaestus, son of Zeus, as he smote the warriors of the River God Scamander in aide of the great Achilles, in all his divine glory, bellowing smoke over the smoldering encampment of ruin, as the river god begged for mercy......

Are you sure that's tobacco you are smoking there, dude?

Tobacco is the Red Man's revenge.

I don't have a problem with folks using tobacco but the proven additional collateral medical costs (via medical insurance) should be borne by them alone.

My opinion of this isn't limited to people using tobacco, it's true of all proven medical risks.

Wanna be a fatty? OK, then you pay more.

Wanna sit arse on couch all the fricking time? Ditto

Wanna use a motorcycle as your only means of transport? Ditto

Wanna smoke, drink, use drogas, etc? Ditto x 3

I should be punished or rewarded according to my choices.

You don't understand why people would do something that relaxes them and gives them a slight buzz and is highly addictive?

If that's what they want they should consider doing heroin, when used in a controlled manner to avoid overdosing heroin will cause less damage to the human body than smoking.

Or they can just smoke cigarettes and not do heroin

Ever been to a casino? Fawk 90% of the people there are smoking. I say smoking has increased not declined.

And yes smoking is trashy AF.

In terms of smoking, there is really no variable within the practice of smoking that moves the "risk needle."

Actually, the risks of cancer from smoking are dose dependent, much like the number of homosexual partners and anal sex and those health risks.

I said nothing about God. I'm only referring to behavior.

Fair point, although I'd argue that risk of developing cancer with low/moderate smoking is still exponentially higher to the risk contracting HIV with low/moderate homosexual partners.

That would be a good investigation. What's considered low/moderate homosexual partners vs low/moderate number of cigs? There's a British joke in here somewhere.

Gambling attracts risk takers, but that is a subject for another day. Tons of data available that indicate smoking among adults is declining.

LINK

"In November 2015, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention noted in their report, “The percentage of U.S. adults who smoke cigarettes declined from 20.9 percent in 2005 to 16.8 percent in 2014. Cigarette smoking was significantly lower in 2014 (16.8 percent) than in 2013 (17.8 percent).”

Maybe that's because casinos are one of the few places left that allow smoking.

Using a casino as your baseline is like assuming there are no black people in BR cause you went to CCLA.

If everyone just started putting the dicks in their mouth and the cigarettes up their arse we could eliminate AIDS and lung cancer at the same time
