Second one around 4-5 at my mother-in-law and father-in-law's house

First dinner will be around 5 people; second one 6 adults and one child

Main meat is turkey, first Thanksgiving dinner will have both though

Blessing to you as well Pectus

Never had one, but have always wondered, how do you fry a turkey without oil? And how can it possibly taste like one deep fried?

I love picking over the carcass after the turkey has been carved. Best part of the whole bird. Like little tidbits of juicy turkey wrapped in cracklins.

You should read that that thread about fights at Thanksgiving.

I am eternally grateful that God has blessed me with the family I have. For many reasons, which will I'll never reveal here, I am certain I don't deserve it. I am also very grateful that I live in a country where we are all free to pretty much do and say as we please because brave men and women are ensuring our freedoms.

Happy Thanksgiving.

I was very skeptical as well, but after 10+ years of dealing with oil, I gave it a try.

You have to inject, like you always do, and rub inside and outside with your typical rub.

Do not overcook, and don't go to larger 12-13lb max.

10 minutes a pound, use a thermometer.

Do not overcook.

They came out very good and everyone like it as well as the deep-fried.

Gotcha. Is there a little bit of oil used for the crust? Or no oil at all? I fry every year, but honestly, it's a hassle cleaning up with all the oil, and I feel like I have to fry 3-4 minimum before it's worth doing. And now, nobody really to fry for.

Been wanting to make a change but just never looked into it because I figured it was some sort of half arse method that only yankees would do and think it was delicious with some shitty pot roast and potatoes or something.

When it's with family it is mid to late afternoon.

When it's just the 2 of is it's late because he has to work.

1. We usually eat whenever the food is ready. We start cooking early so that makes it close to lunch time. And then we just eat that the rest of the day. I'm making home made ice cream right now.

2. Six. My wife and kids.

3. Been in Oklahoma for about 4 years but spent the rest of my life in Louisiana.

4. Mostly turkey. Sometimes both.
