Is there any way to "get" more energy?

Donald Trump was asked by Morning Joe yesterday morning (I think) how much sleep he gets each night.

"Four hours, maybe five."

That's it. For a guy who will be 70 this summer, who clearly doesn't exercise or subscribe to any trendy or meaningful new diet ("I try to skip breakfast every day, maybe eat lunch", he said in the same interview). I've read that he doesn't drink coffee or alcohol. He certainly doesn't take adderall or use any other 21st century crutches.

Trump seems to work 18 hours a day - I'm in my 30's, consider myself rather fit, watch what I eat, I get 8 hours of sleep per night, I juice vegetables, etc. and I struggle to put in 8 solid hours regularly.

I hate thinking that I'm closer to "low energy" Jeb Bush than I am to the alpha Don that I support enthusiastically.

Is this purely genetic - akin to some people being able to run faster than others b/c they were born with more/faster twitch muscles? Is it like being born intelligent or not intelligent?

Has anybody else been able to up their energy by making meaningful changes in their lives? I'd really like to improve this and TIA.

Old people don't seem to sleep much at night.

I am also pretty low energy. I always have been. Adderall & caffeine keep me more awake, but don't make me feel energized. The only time I feel really energetic is when I'm not stressed & doing something I love to do. I have to power through the other times.

Even if he's exaggerating a bit, he still obviously works at least 14 hours per day. I struggle to get through 8 and I'm less than half his age, in much better shape, and I feel it's a safe bet I ingest healthier foods.

I think maybe he does what he loves and is passionate about. If I owned the New Orleans Saints or was their GM I'm pretty sure the 12 hour days would fly by. I guess it's just a grind when you have a job you're "meh" about.

I think he is passionate about his beliefs and what he does for a living. I mean he has his own empire, pretty much. All these people following him really fires him up.

I had a job several years ago where I worked min 60 hrs a week, 6 days a week and it didn't bother me much because I was passionate about the job. Times have changed, new job, and I struggle to get through 38 hours each week.

Yup - this is me. My work is subpar now and I'm less happy working under 40 hours (and making more money and traveling to more glamorous places) than I was working 60 hours, being browbeaten by my old boss, etc. Because I was passionate about that miserable job

I think I'll keep trudging on and start looking for a better fit. This might help - I think that's the right answer mate

A. He is lying. B. It's all mental. He has a want to dominate and he will not let lack of sleep stop him.

What they said about old people not sleeping. My mom slept less than 6 hours a night, often less, in her 50s and 60s.

That and being able to skip a shampoo during the shower here and there are something I look forward to about growing older (near daily washes and blow drying takes forever and is damaging to my hair now).

In those regards, bring on the low sleep, non-oily old age!
