Is there an age it's safe to give young boys protein powder?

My ten yr old wants to be thicker, so I told him I could make him shakes with protein powder in them...but I'm not sure that's legit. Anyone have a resource I could read up on about the pros/cons?
He's the tallest, fastest kid in the club, but he gets pushed around when there's no space. He eats well, but is so active he never puts in weight.

Let pediatrician look at the list of ingredients.
I remember being told too much soy was bad when I was that young. The way I gained weight (was a skinny kid) was drinking an Ensure with my breakfast every morning and an Ensure with a PBJ sandwich every night before bed.
ETA:
But I'm sure its fine. Put the kid of Muscle Milk, shite tastes great.

My ten year old still plays with xmen action figures...
Thanks, I wasn't sure when the right time to beat the shite out of him for being a pussy was, but you've shown me the way.

I tell him to use those pointy elbows and dig em to their ribs,..but I guess at some point you just have to get tired of it and get mad.

Just let him keep playing the queer sport of soccer and no one will blink an eye at him being a fig

So he's a pussy? No amount of protein powder will put fight in your boy.

Golf is all about rotational speed. He doesn't need to be thick.

Um, he's fricking 10, Puberty will thicken him up.
Protein in and of itself isn't going to hurt him, but it's probably not going to build the muscle that you want right now, it would just go straight to fat. He doesn't have the testosterone yet to develop muscle. If you are insane enough to consider giving a 10 year old testosterone, I would prefer you just call CPS on yourself, and step back from being a vicarious sports dad.

If you use one of the natural whey brands, I don't see a problem with it. Just make sure it doesn't have any crazy amounts of creatine or is really high in sugar.

Bruh, he's 10.
I am sure (or hope) he isn't talking about weight lifting gains. Just wants to not be the super skinny kid.
I was skinny AF and hated it. My metabolism was ridiculous. Now I wish I could have it back

He's 10. Make him a lot of pb&j's.

Might as well give him the Mike Pence Conversion therapy

Also, when I was a kid I was skinny and my doctor said I could drink Ensure to get extra calories and protein.
