There's one in front of the school on South Harrell's Ferry.

is it just some lame-ass parking lot where they just throw pumpkins on the ground, or is it kinda cool?

What makes a pumpkin patch 'cool'? (Obviously, other than the sincere one 'the great pumpkin' rises in each year.)

It's a real question. I've never been to a pumpkin patch.

In just get a couple at the wal marks, put them in some weeds in the corner of the yard, and act amazed as I look out of the window and yell to the kids that "the pumpkins have grown again this year"....

That's great, but it really doesn't answer the question.

Hmm...may have to try that this year. Maybe get them to "plant" some magic pumpkin seeds?

There is one at Blackwater United Methodist Church out toward the Central area. Address is 10000 Blackwater Road. It's usually pretty good as pumpkin patches go. Besides the pumpkins of many different sizes and shapes, they usually have other gourds as well. They provide wagons to haul your pumpkins (or kids if they are small) around in while you look, and will load your purchases in your car for you, if you want them to. This year I think they have a hayride and I believe the youth group does kiddie games in the gym as well. Last year, the people that had the most fun were young couples with kids in the 1-5 year-old range. The parents all brought cameras and had a good time watching the little ones playing amongst the pumpkins.
