Is the Southeast the best quadrant of the US for quality of life?

I've been to or through all but about 10 states, and I acknowledge that the other three quadrants have more picturesque landscapes. I feel like it's hard to beat the NW, if they get Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska. And obviously the other two obviously hold advantages in having larger, more fashion and tech forward metropolitan cities. But purely from a quality of actual life standpoint, does the overall slow pace, quaint congeniality and reluctance to leave our ingrained moral and social fabric make the Southeast the easiest quadrant of the country to live a happy life in?

By every metric it is pretty much the worst.

I love it but almost no one would agree.

I think it's gonna depend on what an individual determines as "quality of life". For some...the southeast offers what they want. For others...it is sorely lacking.

My quality of life greatly improved when I moved out of the Southeast for example.

Based on your title wording it's not the best for education apparently.

This is Oregon's country. Wouldn't mind waking up each day to this, in peace and quiet..with no worries of Johnny law trying to lock you up for smoking.

I've always wanted to spend time in Oregon. Looks beautiful.

Spent two weeks in California. Weather was phenomenal and no mosquitoes.

You should be able to find peace and tranquility in any location.
To me, quality of life is a function more of what's in your mind, than in your neighborhood or state.
Without good friends or good family, anywhere can feel cold and lonely.

I think that depends on perspective. I don't know where you're viewing it from, but rural louisiana has some rural pockets where you wouldn't meet a happier, better human being.

I stay current with world and US politics and current events. There is so much division, progressive bullshite, PC culture, and overall turmoil all over the country... but most of that is not spreading into this part of the country so much

I agree. I've lived in every quadrant except the northwest and Rocky Mountain states. Although the southeast is my favorite, many people will think otherwise.

Everything in this post reveals what you consider to be the best quality of life. Not everyone shares your values.

It's a "whatever floats your boat" question. Someone who loves hunting, fishing, football, and church might love the South. Someone who wants the hustle and bustle of a city that has ethnic food, a new event/show/concert every night, and endless amounts of new people to meet would love the Northeast. Someone who hates humidity but loves the outdoors might pick the West.

I know someone who willfully moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan because they love four distinct seasons, hunting and fishing, and wanted quality schools.

Colorado is part of the Southwest, not Northwest. I would say life out here is a lot better than the SE. To each his own though.

It's a shame Orgeon, Washington, and California are so blue, politically.

If life is pointless, then its only purpose is to enjoy yourself during it, so knowledge that makes you unhappy is counterproductive, unless lack of that knowledge eventually causes your unhappiness.

What difference does it make exactly?

I suppose it depends on your values.
