Is simple battery to a cop a misdemeanor or felony in Louisiana?

can be either depending on how they write it up. It's supposed to be a misdemeanor, but on a LEO could warrant an added charge making it a felony.
The jailers making $19k a year will give you extra shite too.

Why doesn't he google revised statute and see? Greater than a year of potential incarceration = felony.

HOWEVER, it's a rare misd with a mandatory min (15 days)

Appears to be a misdemeanor.

But that link may not be the most up to date.

But I think I recall reading in the 2014 criminal code that it is indeed a misdemeanor

Is pointing a gun at a law enforcement officer a crime? Misdemeanor of felony? How does that change if said LEO is a federal LEO?
