If eating meat on a Friday in Lent sends you to Hell, where do you go for spilling your seed into some Kleenex every day?

So you're saying you would trade with him? How about Jesus gives up meat and you go on the cross for six weeks? Yeah didn't think you'd like that, crosses are uncomfortable and super hard to find.

I personally don't participate in the no meat on Fridays deal. I have had some people scoff at me for eating meat on Fridays during Lent while they stuff their face with crawfish and fried fish. So what's the deal? I thought Lent was about fasting.

I assume you are Catholic right? Just because you are suppose to not eat meat, doesn't mean you have to eat fried food.

Either way, Catholics are the only ones who practice not eating meat. I am Catholic (although I am not active) and I do not practice not eating meat on Friday. If someone "scoffs" at me, that isn't really my problem.

Catholics abstain from meat on Fridays to honor the "flesh" Jesus sacrificed for them. So if you eat meat on Friday, you're basically eating Jesus, you Heathen.

Honest question. You think the creator of literally everything gives a shite about whether or not you eat meat on a certain number of Fridays during the year?

You didn't let me respond. I'm a world renown cross maker so it wouldn't be too bad.

Then you're not really catholic. That's like saying you're a vegetarian but you eat meat.

Can we start making lists of things we are but aren't active in?

I'm a Muslim, Jew, dental hygienist, cartographer and mixologist. Although I'm active in none.

Lent has NOTHING to do with Fish and Seafood.

Possibly, a Bishop knew of the local fishermen struggling and he helped by combining the 2, or possibly in Italy, the Pope might of helped out the local fishermen. But the actual dealio has nothing to do with Lent

It's become a way for Churches to make money on fish frys.

More likely people just realized seafood wasn't meat so they started eating it on Friday. No need to have a more detailed explanation than that.

I always get a big time kick out of people acting all holy over not eating meat on Fridays but stuffing their face with crawfish and fried shrimp

John 21:5-6
quote:

5 He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?”

“No,” they answered.

6 He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Sounds like the best fishing guide ever to me.
