Is it time to get the gunite pool replastered?

We bought the house last year and it already had some of this happening. It's only in one section of the pool. Do I need to patch it or have it replastered? If it's the second option does anyone know of a company or someone who does this type of work?

Yes, because white is so 70's. Rust spots?

You need a darker color and remove those ugly bricks. Tile doesn't look bad.

Yes, the rust spots are the rebar where gunite has worn off. I did mine after 13 years. I also went for a darker color. Looks good.

Did you have someone do it for you? If so do you have any recommendations and estimated price?

Pool Plaster Guys

The price depends on the condition of the existing plaster and the shell and the size of the pool, and if any tile work needs to be done. I'd say figure at least $5000, and it could easily go $10-12,000.

We're about to contract for ours. Quotes range from $4800 without tile to as high as $6400 without tile. Tile ranges from $2200 to $3200.

I'm guessing the price ranges depending on the size of the pool. I don't know the exact square feet but I know it has a little over 10,000 gallons in it. Not a very large size pool.

You have a relatively shitty pool, as if you wanted to make ppl think you have money but in fact that pool makes you look poor. My workers would laugh at you.

Guy Oliver replastered ours last year. Great job and did it when they said they would. Even took us around to see several that they had built or replastered to help us pick a color.
