How do you do this online? Are there sites or apps I can use? Really don't feel like negotiating in person but rather online.

It's a Christmas Day miracle.

The Germans have overrun the OT.

OP: Try the Money Talk Board, this discussion has been had over and over and over again.

There is a guy who posts on here that has a step by step process on how to purchase a new vehicle. It has been posted several times.

If you don't like negotiating, you will pay a higher price than many who took the time to research and arm themselves with information.

I saw your posts on the money board just now. Is there a way I can set the price I am willing to pay and see if dealers can match it online?

quote:

I researched my truck online. Then emailed the Internet manager at a dealership. A few back and forth emails later, we agreed to a price. Walked in two days later and signed the paperwork.

This.

Also helps if you get in touch with another online dealership to get a quote. Use them against each other, and see which you trust more. When I did it, one of the dealerships tried to get me to come in and give them all my contact info before they gave me the quote. I just repeated my request for a quote and stated that another online dealership was able to reply to me with a quote in less than 24 hours, whereas they took 2 days to respond without a quote. Ended up getting a lower quote, brought it to the dealership that didn't try and jerk me around... they matched it. Signed paper work and done. The more info and knowledge you have going into it the better, the salesmen love it when the buyer already knows what they want and its as simple as coming to a reasonable price.

Keep trying. You'll come up with something witty eventually.

This is good advice. I've done my research already. Just need to start a bidding over my business.

Cargurus will allow you to find every car in the country (new or used) with the color and options you want. Once you know who has the cars you want, they will definitely deal price with you online. And you have it right there in print - if a dealer calls bullshite on a deal you have, you can forward him the email showing the other deal.

Aren't you Indian? In person negotiation is the best option for you. The salesman stands no chance Always ask for the invoice, but go in knowing that information first to see how honest they are. I recommend Truecar.com. Look into the Costco auto buying program as well, but I think you stand a better chance and will get a better deal in person. Just threaten to walk and the manager will come in and drop his pants. You hold all the cards.

If you're not willing to negotiate, look into a car buying program. Multiple organizations have them, AAA, CostCo, AllState, etc.

This is similar to being involved in a VPP type program. You'll get a set price on the vehicle, no negotiation. They will try to stick you with fees, but that can be avoided. Usually that's the case when you get very particular and the car is not on the lot.
