False. The ugly truth is the 4s actually runs on the 3G framework. The OS update just updated it to say "4G" and the masses fell for it. Seriously.
Actually it is semi true.
The 4s on verizon and sprint is only 3g capable. No 4G whatsoever.
However it has the legal definition of 4G on AT&T because AT&T and T-Mobile fought to get the definition of 4G changed from being LTE and Wimax only to including the quasi 3.5G HSPA+. The iphone 4 and 4s both have HSPA+, which allows them the ability to say they have 4G, when in reality they have 3.5G. They do not have LTE though.
