Flare Tracking. An increase in flaring often precedes an increase in a company's stock price. Basically, the busier the company is, the more flaring. So anytime you see lots of flaring, you get in the market before reports for that quarter goes public.

So you presume that one chemical plant is an indicator for public stock price. Ok

OK....

My experience is that when you see flaring the facility is experiencing a process malfunction and is sending product to flare off until the issue is resolved. .

Didn't Dow sell most of its interests in plaquemine anyway?

Basically, yes. They are burning off excess gases. Excess gases as a result of increased production.

Did you need to specify the Plaquemine part on an LSU site?

Not worth the debate but typically a company does not burn product unless it must to control the process. If its an increase, they would have planned before hand.

Fairly certain they are currently in turnaround or will be in the next week or so.
