I mean unless someone has 100 50gal barrels of twinkle and a giant brush on a crane the statue of liberty will never be shiny.

Metal awnings on my house turn green and so did my copper teapot but I clean the teapot.

copper oxidizes green, but it can be treated and it won't change color as quickly.

The patina looks great as a fixture on a house. It does not however translate well to use in cookware. But yea copper in the outdoor setting is supposed to patina

Oxidation. Leave a penny in the elements and see what happens.

Anyone else think it would be cool to see the Statue of Liberty after a Brasso session?

What is your question? Copper is, well, copper colored until it oxidizes. It is supposed to be copper colored until it is changed with oxidation.
