Is badminton a beta sport?

It wouldn't seem to take too much athletic ability to chase and hit the shuttlecock. There is also zero trashiness about it. Can't remember the last time that I saw badminton being played next to a trailer.

I watched a 'How it's Made' episode recently on the manufacture of high end shuttlecocks. They used like real goose feathers, wood, cork, and all. I don't know about beta or not, but the show was badass. I love that program in general, though.
