So here is the situation: I have an interview to move 1 position up in another department for my current company. One issue is that I require manager approval since I've been at the company sub 1 year. Chain is as follows:

Manager approves interview

Director approves move (if i succeed in the interview)

One issue is that right now, my junior just put in his 2 weeks so they the director isnt too excited about losing someone else/ work getting slowed down.

What should I do OT? I talked to my manager and he is supportive of the interview, but worried if I burn bridges with the director it may bite me

Externally would be simple, but utilities man

What's the bump in pay going from Assistant Fry Cook to Head Fry Cook?

Not yet, you need manager approval (he is willing to give), but then the director will need to be notified.

Sounds like the department manager needs to get his/her shite together and stop losing employees.

Something is off if everyone is looking elsewhere for a job, internal or external.

I'd go through with the interview. Worry about the rest "if" you are offered. Maybe the Director offers you a raise?

I thought this was about jobs that were emotionally moving like hospice worker or puppy security. I don't give a shite about your career.

Sounds like that's a non issue since he's the one that either approves it or tells you to get fricked.

2 weeks after you are gone, they will not remember you. You got to do what's best for you, and they understand it. If they had a shot at a better job, they would be gone too. Don't give it a second thought.

Be prepared to work your fricking arse off in the transition. im transfering jobs internally and I am stuck doing both jobs because no one else can do my old job. its a headache and you will have people pissed with you.

I am worried about losing the relationships. I have never been in this position before and do not want to hinder future prospects

Why would a promotion within the company burn a bridge?

You're so full of shite. In the past month I've seen you beg for resume advice, claim an employer you've never met with wanted you to sign an NDA, that half of your IT dept was laid off and how to use a urinal with other men around.

You need to take a break.

We have lost one person who was critical with large project reporting. That was to go to me, but if I leave, they dont have anyone who gets it.

He and Athens are both attention whores. One thinks he is indispensible and the other can't take a shite without asking for advice.
