Step 1. Get blackout drunk.
Step 2. Flee the scene of the accident (duh).
Step 3. Lock yourself in your house.
Step 4. Don't open door when law enforcement knocks.

NOTE: You must be a member of law enforcement for this to work. You may get charged with reckless operation, but that's much better than DUI or hit-and-run (or both).

Detailed Instructions Inside

quote:

A Port Barre woman is speaking out after a weekend incident involving St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Deputy Captain Megan Vizena.

quote:

According to KLFY, Latiolais said she was getting items out of her trunk when she noticed Vizena's car pass up her own driveway. "I saw the lights and then the car drives in, hits my car, stops, backs up, goes into the ditch," said Pauline Latiolais, Vizena's neighbor. She went on to say she watched as Vizena backed out, got stuck in the ditch, then drove into her own driveway and ran into her house leaving her car running.

quote:

"The statute said the person has to have known that they were involved in the hit and run to charge them. We can't confirm that if she knew or not because when I spoke to Ms. Vizena the next morning and I asked her to tell me what happened she said she didn't know, she didn't remember," said Boudreaux.

quote:

He said a sobriety test was not done because Vizena locked herself in her home and therefore she can not be charged with DWI.

quote:

She is no longer the public information officer for the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Department. Vizena is being reassigned as the department's schools activities coordinator. She will keep her rank of captain.

She should have called the police and said Captain Vizena was being held hostage by a dog, and a scary looking black guy with a blunt.

No knock warrant would have been issued and swat team dispatched within an hour.

Chief Boudreaux said there was enough evidence to charge Vizena with hit and run, but since Vizena claims she does not remember, Boudreaux said she cannot be charged. We can't confirm that if she knew or not because when I spoke to Ms. Vizena the next morning and I asked her to tell me what happened she said she didn't know, she didn't remember," said Boudreaux.
