IndyCar officially announced on Wednesday the addition of NOLA Motorsports Park and the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana to the Verizon IndyCar Series schedule in 2015. The event will be held April 10-12 and organized by Andretti Sports Marketing on a newly configured 13-turn, 2.67-mile permanent road course layout (BELOW).
The Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana will feature a three-day festival combining Louisiana's culture – including live musical acts, entertainment and local cuisine – with the excitement of a Verizon IndyCar Series event.
"We're delighted about the opportunity to showcase the Verizon IndyCar Series at NOLA Motorsports Park and to IndyCar fans in the greater New Orleans area," said Mark Miles, CEO of Hulman & Co., the parent company of IndyCar and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "The commitment from track owner Laney Chouest and his associates, combined with the support we received from the state of Louisiana, was the catalyst in making this come to fruition. New Orleans has a history of hosting successful major sporting events and we're thrilled to be able to add the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana to the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series schedule."

I still say they should put a NASCAR track in the east.

they said during the race broadcast sunday they were close to getting the race finalized and something would be announced in the next few weeks.

If they do any testing sessions in the lead up to the race I would suggest going. In Birmingham they let you walk around the area behind the pits where they work on the cars. It's really cool seeing them rip the cars open and work on them.

Seems like that track would be too tight for indycar.

Karts are $20 for 10 minutes. Depending on how busy they are, you can pay and ride almost immediately or if busy, it could take a while for your race.

They supply helmets and neck braces. Or u can bring your own helmet and/or brace if u have your own.

Karts get up to about 40mph and is a blast to ride. If you're a good enough driver, you can run the whole course without lifting off the gas in the turns.

NASCAR would probably thrive on the westbank.
