I had one above my belly button repaired via open with mesh right above my belly button last Friday. I read all these horror stories I was going to be in pain, sore, constipated etc. I was a little sore Saturday and Sunday, a lot better yesterday and basically pain free today. Am I just a super stud or is everyone else just pansies? I took 1 of the 28 percocets prescribed. And no Supersaint, you cannot have my leftovers....

You only read what the outliner crazies write. Most people have no issues with surgery, any kind, and are not posting about it.

My husband had a repair by lap a few years ago and I made him take the pain meds for the first day and the day after because I didn't want the pain to increase. 48 hours later he said where's the good stuff and I told him gone.

The worst part for him was the tape that they used on the bandage really irritated his skin and he was bloated from the gas or whatever they use.

Yeah no doubt....

God knows how my back has been for two days that I could use a couple, but I know myself too well to know I couldn't

On topic, about a year ago I felt like I pulled a muscle between my dick and belly button but a couple inches over. shite hurt like hell in one spot. Was sore for a day or two and then I forgot about it until just now... gout, hernia, hydroids, and kidney stones are a few of the things I'm scared of

Hard to drive my Freightliner the day after, but I got through it with only a few Percocet.

Incisional hernia repair above the belly button doesn't seem likely to cause an inordinate amount of pain. There shouldn't be much risk in that spot for nerve contact. Inguinal hernia repair is the surgery typically associated with alot of pain complications AFAIK because of the proximity to the femoral nerves.

When my gallbladder was removed it hurt like hell. But that was from the gas build up when they do laparoscopic.... This surgery felt like I did too many sit-ups the day before.

I had an inguinal hernia repair a few months ago.
They gave me a script for some pain med(some opiate), took about a couple pills but they made me sick.

I went with Tylenol for a few times, felt fine for the most part.

I was up walking around the next day. Took about a week off from work. Didn't do much heavy lifting for a few weeks.

Get a jock cup, I bumped into something at work in my groin area and it hurt pretty bad.
