He overcame his shortcomings in WW1 by enlisting and working his way back into a position of power and took advantage by learning from his mistakes in WW1 to be the main reason Germany didn't take over all of Europe at the time.
His people turned against him as soon as the war was over for some reason I'll never understand.

Hitler. Look at how he turned around Germany in such a short time frame and then imagine how the world would be today if he had ruled it for 30-40 years. I tend to think it would be a way better place, for those of us that made it.

Exactly. Wasn't being sarcastic at all. He did horrible things, but you can't argue that the man wasn't an outstanding leader.
