In a heated debate - What do you call these?

I call them carabiners, and some of my buddies are calling them clips or metal clips. (apparently I'm surrounded by idiots)

But most people in Louisiana will have no interest/use/knowledge of such kind of equipment just because of geography.

clips are for bullets. everyone knows that

That is an oval, straight-gate, nonlocking carabiner.

Carabiners, but don't use the one in the pic for climbing.

Never would've called that a carabiner. It's a hook/clip/something that goes with backpacks or camping

That's unfortunately bc it's exactly what it is

100% Carabiners
I didn't know the name up until a couple months ago when I had to order a bulk of them for a project. I searched bungee clips, hooks, etc. before finally finding the right word for them.

100% correct because that's exactly what it is. I use them for outdoors stuff quite a bit.

I always called them bungee hooks or key hooks.

They're fine for some applications. You can even use two of them with the gates reversed in place of one locking 'biner.

Carabiner
ETA: Who the hell has a heated debate over a carabiner?
