Serious response: if you're one of those jackasses who doesn't understand that an approach ramp is designed for you to reach cruising speed, then this maneuver can become necessary.
I'm not gonna get rear ended because you wanted to merge onto an interstate at thirty five.
I may be misinterpreting you, but that shite drives me insane, slower isn't always safer and it can be deadly. a-hole.

You are supposed to get up to the speed of traffic ON THE RAMP not wait until you are on the interstate. Do it correctly or I will continue to go around you.

The on ramp is for you to get to 70mph prior to reaching the interstate. If you are driving like a puss and merging at a slow speed, quit bitching.

If you stop merging at 6 miles an hour and driving with only two wheels in the lane for half a mile, this doesn't happen.

I always accelerate to interstate speed. I guess that's not fast enough for some who like to break the sound barrier while entering the interstate from behind.

In the past month I've almost be side swiped 3 times by people that don't use their mirrors to move into the left lane.

I'm assuming you mean two cars merging from an on ramp and the one behind jumping in the lane, then passing up the first car blocking them from merging???? I hat that too. Even if the car is going dangerously slow, you just made ithe 10 times worse.
I don't know if other Texas or Houston drivers notice this, but it feels like here, the person merging feels like they have the right of way. Had many cars just get over and expect me to move. Laid on the horn at one guy recently and he decided to flip my wife in the passenger seat off as if it was our fault (and this wasn't a situation where I didn't let him in, there was boutique a quarter mile of mergetting lane left). It's become so common that I stay out of the right lane if it's a 3 lane interstate.
