You are asked to do something illegal. There is a 5% chance you will get caught, and if you get caught you will go to jail for the rest of your life, with no possibility of parole.

How much money would you have to be paid to take this risk? (FWIW, if you get caught you get no money.)

This is stupid. Who's gonna turn down something with a 95% success rate?

Those are shite odds and I have too much to lose. No money.

Better hypothet is this (we often discuss over beers).

You commit a crime with 100% chance of success (embezzlement, not murder or some shite) BUT you have to leave everything you have and everyone you know to move to a third-world country - never to set foot in the US again. How much?

Is getting caught a random chance, or can I lessen/increase the the chance through intelligence/stupidity?

If the crime is outside of my area with no known links to myself; I am allowed to plan it in its entirety; and the odds are not dead set at a 5% chance... 50k.

If the odds are set, 100 million.

No amount of money. Unless I it was a dire emergency, like for something to save the life of a family member.

Hey, I just wrote a Liam Neeson movie.

Of course I can handle celibacy, I'm married. Leaving my kids is a no go.

Alabama isn't just a state, it's a state of mind.

I didn't think you would softball one in like that though.
