My papas figs are just now starting to look decent. My grandmother makes some super duper fig and raspberry jam.

That's what I remember. They'd get a little darker, we'd let them sit, and then pick them right before they fell. Just rinsed and the stem sliced off.

Really nothing better, fruit wise.

I wish more people could accurately communicate what they're trying to say in writing.

I'm gonna try a fig jam, preserve recipe.

I've got all the jars and lids ready to go.

I still remember picking them off my grandmothers fig tree and eating them and then she would also pick them and make fig preserves.

Completely misrepresent the tastiness of an actual fig

Serious question: do figs do well in wet temperate climates like Houston? Looking for a good fruit tree for the backyard.

Fig preserves over Brie - excellent.

The OP is an idiot. Why not, "I'm so happy you love the earrings. This time next year it'll be my ring."

Jesus liked figs. If figs are good enough for Jesus, they're good enough for me.

I like to take some ripe figs and hollow them out just a bit and put them in the oven on a sheet pan with some olive oil and salt and pepper. Brown off some red onion in olive oil and season. Towards the end of cooking the onions, add the parts of the figs that came from the hollowing process. Take the onion mixture and fill the hollow figs, next take some good blue cheese and top figs, finish in oven. I serve this with grilled pork chops, or as an appetizer.

me neither. I did have fig wine one time. when my grandpa died, we found a box full of old homemade wine. one fifth in particular had "fig" and was marked "1982". it was a little too sweet for me. however, there was a bottle of "mulberry" from "1978" that was unbelievable.
