I actually recommend visiting there and Belarus if you're adventurous and have some cash. $10-$20 can get you 2 mercenary soldier "body guards" carrying AUGs for a night on the town, they'll let you shoot artillery rounds along that disputed border near the Ukraine border that they think is theirs or something, the mafia usually will leave you alone since you're bringing $ into the area and even they will take payment if you're drunk and say the wrong thing. All the girls look good and are for sale. Countryside is hilly, there's relaxing small towns all over full of the nicest people I've ever met (albeit poor), and it has a bunch of random Soviet architecture concrete statues and deserted buildings up on the hill tops. You can just jump out of your SUV and go running up a hillside to this random structure in the woods, spend an hour looking at it, and still have no clue what it was for
