If you could go back in time, would you have given LSU a different mascot?

Here's my argument. There are 7 Div. 1 schools with the "tiger" mascot (three in the SEC alone). So there's nothing really special about it. When you say "Tigers" in Louisiana people know you're talking about LSU. But when you go out of state and say "tigers," you could be talking about anyone.
However, it doesn't matter where you are...when you say "longhorns," or "fighting Irish," or "Aggies," or "Gators," or "gamecocks," or "Boilermakers," or "buckeyes," you know exactly what school you are talking about. Should LSU have picked a more defining mascot?

I would've given them the mascot "the all inclusives" to show that there is strength in our diversity and love. If that won't intimidate the heck out of the opposing team, I just don't know what will.
