watching this "I Am Chris Farley" documentary has got me thinking about that question. I'm not saying that Chris Farley would be the most important person that should have lived longer. But I find myself wondering how might he be viewed today if he lived and had a prolonged career.
who would you "save" from an early death if you could?
eta: PocketAces, sorry for your loss. I guess I should've specified that I mean't celebrities or at least someone known locally.

Freddie Mercury only because I'm a massive Queen fan and Adam Lambert is a disgrace to the name.

My Mother. Died when i was 18. cancer. diagnosed when i was 8. Her only prayer was that she would live long enough to see her 2 boys grow up. She died the summer i graduated HS. That women was a Saint. I can't remember her with hair. She never complained about any of it. She continued to work FT during those 10 years of battling cancer. Never missed a single practice or game. Id walk across the country to Hug her one more time

I would love to hear what material Eva Cassidy would have put out if she had not died but at the same time, would she have ever become famous? She wasn't famous until after her death, unfortunately.

But I don't know if she would have ended up with a #1 UK album. Like Nick Drake, a lot of her appeal is her tragic story. I'm surprised there hasn't been a movie biopic -- I wonder if one is in the works?
