If Chic Fil A got into the burger business, would they take over the world?

I'm always amazed at how uniform the excellent customer service is across all of their restaurants. I think they should expand their horizons and get into the burger business...then the pizza business...and finally the retail business.

I actually have tried to think about what makes the service better at chic fil a. Besides the employees just being nice and not acting like they hate their job, what is the major difference? It feels so much better, morale and all, but why?

Beef cost too much. They couldn't spend as much as they do on extra staff.

Are you suggesting that Mormons can't season beef?

Pretty narrow minded of you.

The Chick-fil-A of burgers already exists, it's called In-N-Out. Same quality of customer service

Sounds like you've got it all figured out. Call me if you need a billionaire investor.

One is better pay and benefits than other fast food workers.

But the biggest thing is that the franchise agreement requires the owner to work a certain number of hours per week in the store. We all know there's a huge difference with how restaurant employees behave when the owner of the business is present and running things hands-on.

The Dwarf House (original Chick-fil-A) served burgers, steaks, etc.

Chico-Fil-A's hiring practices are a closely guarded secret - but they have excellent benefits, good morale, scholarships for teenage workers, which helps. The other thing is that it is very difficult to obtain a franchise. They prefer someone who has worked their way up in a Chick-fil-A to obtain a franchise.

You get very few absentee owners in a Chick-fil-A. IMO, thats the biggest difference.

I knew a manager that worked at one. He said they had a room specifically set aside for employee frustrations. When employees would start to fly off the handles or show signs of getting upset/angry, etc, they would go into this room and literally sing songs like "don't worry, be happy" out loud until the mood changed.

He was not joking.

The last time I went to a Chick Fil A was about 15 years ago. I asked if they served any type of burger and the smart arse behind the register told me we only serve chicken sandwiches here in a sarcastic tone.

I told him I was simply asking because the place called Burger King, serves a chicken sandwich a-hole. I never ate there again.

I agree with this for the most part but Canes and Chik are my 1A and 1B
