I think Generation X is currently the best generation alive

Boomer generation sucks. A recent thread on the subject pretty much settled it.
Generation Y is a bunch of lazy entitled punks. I think everyone knows that. There is no dispute there.
That leaves the Generation Xers - people born between early 60s and early 80s. Gen X folks have the right mix of old school and the tech savvy of the Internet age. They are old enough to have enjoyed VCRs, CD players, Walkmans, type writers, big block Chevys, classic rock, old-school rap, Baywatch, Knight Rider and National Lampoon (before it started sucking), and young enough to be able to perfectly identify with smartphones, tablets, Apple TVs, Rokus, little 2-liter European turbocharged engines, TDIs, Nirvana, RHCP, Linkin Park, Jason Bourne, LOTR, Lost, Breaking Bad and TWD.
Gen X is the great generation sandwiched between two awfully sucky ones. Anybody that is a Gen Xer will know what I am talking about and will be able to identify with most of this post.
ETA: A Gen Xer is fine with using a double or a single space after a period. They have seen both in use.

Assuming you are Gen X, I can wish there was one less alive.

There can be a 20 year age gap between Gen Xers. You've got to take that into account. There are going to be some exceptions.

If there really is something wrong Generation Y (which I personally would argue there is nothing different from any other generation) it is entirely the new age parenting BS popularized by Gen X.
Also people have been complaining about how spoiled the following generation is since the industrial revolution. Get over being old and realize that every generation has been smarter on average than the last. Notice how the people making the technological advancements now are 20 years old and not 40 and you will understand how wrong your assumptions are.

I agree completely. Gen X is going to rule the world once the baby boomers step aside.

I think 20 years is too big of a sample. that said I agree.

I'm gen X and I don't think gen Y is all bad. There are good and bad pockets. Some of the gen Y folks are a lot like gen X.

It's not about changing the world. It is the sense of entitlement and need for instant gratification the current young generation has that is unbelievable.

Wasn't it generation x that fricked up the economy and housing market?

I wish I was born earlier, the 80s would've been a badass time to be 10-20.
Regardless, I still had an awesome childhood in the 90s

I was born in 81...wasnt aware I was Gen x. I don't know about any of that tech shite though. I don't even really know what a torrent is. I do think I relate way more to gen x though as my parents were both born in early 40s like those born 10-15 years earlier than me.

Well said. I couldn't agree more.
I was born in 85, but consider myself a Generation Xer. My little brother is 5 years younger than me and is the poster child for Generation Y. It's like you can almost see the generation line.
I think your blurb summed it up nicely. We understand technology much better than Baby Boomers, yet we could absolutely survive in a Post Apocalyptical world
