I moved here for work

Substantial raise and basically a huge step up in my career path.

It's shell shocking though living in BR my whole life then coming here.

I like the small time vibe going on and live next to SFA campus but man where are the spots around here? I know nobody outside of my co-workers and don't know them well enough yet to start asking them.

All I know is the folks in College Station would always talk shite about that place. In other words, you're screwed.

Im 3 hours from houston and 4 to dallas, 2 and 1/2 to college station, 5 hours to austin, fricking middle of nowhere shite.

How old are you?

If you're still college-ish aged (27 or less) and still down with that "lifestyle" the best places to go are Shack and Anex for the bar/club scene. Anex used to be suuuppeerrr Ghetto when I first got there, but they got in trouble got some new management and have cleaned up really well. Banita Creek Hall was always my favorite bar, but it's a country environment (white girls in daisys tho )

I mean other than that a lot of the night life and stuff revolves around campus life (house parties, Greek life, etc.) I will say hit up some SFA basketball games when it's a big game. Underrated experience.

Where are you staying?

ETA: it's really not as bad as y'all are making it out to be. My view may be a little skewed as I only know it as a student, and not a professional but there's definitely shite going on all the time. It's just probably harder for visitors who don't know the right people to find it.

I'm right off Appleby Sand on Sheffield.

I'm not disclosing my age but im under 30 (close to it), i easily pass for fricking 21-22 sometimes and im way older.

I can pull off the young vibe bc I got dat baby face chicks love.

Thanks for the post that was more than I expected here.

I've been to Nacogdoches for work several times. I spent a lot of time in the hotel. If you're young and not married, there's always the college girls.

You should probably take up hunting/fishing.

Oh yeah you're not too far from campus. Still tho I will admit Nac is more of town that you're going to have to make an effort to find fun sometimes, unlike LSU. But I always enjoyed my time up there. If you go into like "this shite is gonna suck" you're probably going to be miserable like the rest of the fricks in this thread. It sounds cliche, but just make the best of it. Good luck to ya

Also you think you were shellshocked moving from BR. Try living in Houston most of your life and then coming up there for school

Oh and to clear up your confusion it's about 2 - 2 1/2 hours to both Dallas and Houston. Also no liquor in grocery stores like LA. only in the liquor stores and they close at 9 p.m. and aren't open on Sundays
