It makes sense, but I never gave much thought to the idea of dogs donating blood. Turns out it is a relatively common practice.

If you have a healthy pup, consider making a donation. You will probably be saving a life at some point.

It's a stupid arse thing for anyone to waste their time and recourses on. If a dog needs blood just go grab one or two out of the back of the Vet clinic and get to work. These people & their obsession with dogs is out of control, focus the damn effort on helping people that need help.

This plan will work great considering there are something like 13 different dog blood types.

Just because blood is 'red' doesn't mean it will work.

All clinics keep blood on hand, I know this as fact. Most have 30-50 dogs boarding at all times as well. No need for this service other than a money grab for the growing number of pussies that require emotional support dogs. It's both out of control and ridiculous. More and more people would rather see an innocent human die over a fricking animal, it's sickening

Hey I get it man, some people are that way, even my own mother. Liberal artsy types and uneducated house cleaner/grass cutting types. I understand but I don't agree with it

You are so fricking stupid. I hope you need a transfusion and have a fatal reaction.
The people on this forum make me wish I only had to deal with animal patients and not their owners

I never heard about this until my vets dog was in some dog magazine and the newspaper for saving the most dogs with his donated blood, or something along those lines. I think it's a great cause, if the dog has a good chance of survival and wont suffer long term why would you ever blame someone for spending the money to give them blood? For some people their dog is the only thing they have in this world.

My dog has been a blood donor quite a few times.

My vet does a lot of surgery so hopefully he's helped save some lives.
