I hate the DMV

License is about to expire. They didn't mail me a sticker so I go in and try to renew it. Lady tells me to start reading the lines in the eye machine. I have a stigmatism in my left eye. I have a restriction for correctional lenses on my lic already. I can see fine I just can't read signs that are far away. So obviously I don't wear my glasses. I basically have to go get new glasses to renew my license. I don't have insurance that covers this. frick the government. Gonna make me spend money and buy glasses I'll never wear.

Why didn't they mail you a sticker? You know you have to do it online right? It doesn't just show up out of thin air.

They still mail stickers? They just sent me a letter in the mail and I filled out the application online. 2 weeks later they sent me a new license.

I have no idea. I got my current license when I was 18. Bc I lost my original. The picture looks nothing like me and it's one of those vertical ones. So I thought yeah might be a good idea to get a new one considering I don't have a fro anymore.

I think they only let you renew by mail/online every other time, then you have to go in so you can get an updated photo taken and they can make sure you pass the vision test while you're there. 
So if you already had the restriction requiring glasses, you knew that you'd need them to pass the test. And you know that means you're supposed to wear them while driving, right?

They don't just mail you a sticker.... you have to actually go online and do an online renewal to get a sticker or new license in the mail.

You sound like the dumb broad at the office. "You know with this restriction if you get pulled over and your not wearing them it's a automatic suspension." "Sweetheart, I've been pulled over 5 times in the past 4 years. They never asked me about my glasses." " well they probably just assumed you had contacts on idk I wasn't there". I hate the DMV, too. That's why I use a notary to handle all of my DMV stuff. There is never a need to go to the DMV for drivers licenses, registration or anything like that. Pay a little extra for not having to deal with those a-hole gov workers.

Well you obviously need glasses or contacts...and you can't get a new license without them. So I see one option here. Get some corrective lenses.

I'm not saying you are Mr. Magoo out there, but your license does have a corrective lenses requirement so you should have been wearing glasses/contacts the entire time. I don't understand why you are bitching about having to buy something you should have owned since you began driving.
