It was about 11:30, wife and I are in bed. My wife is sleeping, I was asleep but had pretty much just fallen asleep. Dog starts barking. I'm half asleep but with the way our house is set up you can see the front door down the hall from our bedroom. I see someone is out there.

Door bell rings, I'm still half asleep. I really have no idea what this could be. Door bell rings again as I try to put shorts on.

I go to the front door and through the window on the door I can see its a little black girl, maybe 12-14. A little heavy set, glasses.

I say, "Can I help you?"

"Oh, I'm sorrah, I thought this was my friend's house. She live somewhere around here."

I'm super confused and still a bit out of it. I say "You don't know where your friend lives? So you just start ringing door bells at 11:30? Are you ok, do you need some help?"

"She live somewhere around here." Walks away.

At this point, thoughts are racing through my mind. Why is this young girl, 13ish, out at this time of night, doesn't know where her friend lives, and ringing doorbells.

My house is going to get robbed, isn't it?

high probability probably casing the house to see if anyone was at home. Now that her and her friend know you have a job, they will break in today while you are at work.

Nah. She was probably trying to get to her bf's house and got lost.

Of course you're about to get robbed, dumdum.

If you had not answered the door then yes, your house would have been broken into.

Had a boy come up asking for donations to his baseball team. Five minutes later the neighbor a few doors down caught him trying to break into their shed. Good plan, even if they are home you might still get some money.

The thought entered my mind, but despite how I portrayed her, it did SEEM innocent. She came across just like a clueless kid and seemed innocent.

The dogs barking are probably a small deterrent.

Which means I'm getting raped and murdered soon.

I had something similar happen to me with an old lady instead of a little girl when I lived in Dallas about 5 yrs ago. I responded by saying "your friend doesn't live here and I have a loaded gun. You should leave now." They left and never came back.

She was probably just looking for her teacher's house.

Was she reaching for a gun?

Prolly should have shot her 7 times in the back.
