I couldn't. Only 28.
Invest it properly, get an additional $50-60k/yr in income.. Drastic improvement in quality of life and you can take some of that and reinvest it.. Some of it you could invest in aggressive stocks and hope to hit big.
I'm 37 with two 5 year olds. I'd probably just pay off my house and car then invest the rest and never touch it, just continuing to reinvest the interest.
Then when I turn 50 and the boys are on their own, I'd likely be in a much better spot to retire with the money.

quote:Not sure what the states are, but i think there's only 5 or so states where you can win the lottery and remain anonymous. If you're not in 1 of those states, everyone would know.
I would not tell anyone I won first of all.

My stepdad played the Kentucky lottery religiously - buying $20 worth of numbers every week for probably 15 years. Would play birthdays, his IBEW home local number, stuff like that.
Waxed poetic about how he'd spend potential winnings - focused mainly on buying things for other people.
The most he won was $500 once, I think. Got $100 or $50 more than once, but didn't break even by a long, long stretch.
I used to bust his balls and tell him he should just give me $100 every month, and I'd tell him he didn't win.
