on I-20 in Meridian, you pass mile marker 130 and the next mile marker is 150 if you're going west. What the hell happened to that 20 miles. I know large numbers confuse most Mississippi folk, but c'mon.

Going to go out on a limb and say that since its i20/59 you're probably resetting to one interstate or merging with the other.

It's how the local cops nail you for speeding. "Officer, in my cruiser I observed the defendant traveling from marker 130 to marker 150 in just one minute."

If you're doing it right you're supposed to pull into MeridianDogs crib and enjoy homeade corn pone and nanner puddin. That's the 20 miles you're missing. It's some field of dreams type shite.

I can't answer your question, and I promise I'm not trying to shite on your thread. But your post made me think...is it strange that I've been driving for ~25 years and I've never once used a mile marker for anything? To this day I never even notice or pay attention to them

I suppose I have, but I'm normally looking for the hwy number or road name. Like I said, I've never even put any thought into it at all as far as mile markers go

Meridian gives me the heeby jeebies. Is there any life in that town? Seems like The Bonita Lakes Mall is the only thing to see of the interstate.
