Video taken by a guy who works at the airport.
Roadway Damage
Hit at about 1:30 AM our time. Wake the wife (no pics) and I up from a dead sleep. Biggest one by far we've felt in our 3 years here. Luckily, minor damage reported (stuff falling off of walls, falling out of cabinets, etc)
My friend's wife was freaking out

Just try and tell me fracking isn't destroying this earth.

Roger is in Juneau, IIRC. That's several hundred miles way. He probably didn't feel it.
NOAA said Tsunami was not a threat with this one.

Definitely looks sketchy, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to experience one.

That's fair. They are usually small and pretty cool to experience. That one last night wasn't fun at all.
House was swaying; our bedroom door swung open. The streetlight were rocking and things were coming off the walls. It went on for over a minute.
I was legit scared. I first ran to my kids and then ran downstairs to check on my new 65".
All good

I don't support fracking, but you got no way of knowing if that's related to fracking or not...

Still no Roger check in? This has me worried.

Barely felt it down here.
I was in the Mat-Su when the 7.9 hit in 2002. Pretty scary stuff.
Understand some folks on the Kenai lost homes and the Sterling Hwy split in this one.

What a retard
You're talking about a place that has experienced earthquakes long before fracking was in use.

Experienced many in Cali. Some big some small. Sometimes unnerving for sure.

Yeah, just disregard that huge subduction zone off the coast of AK that normally causes these type of quakes.

I have once and that was enough. What a trippy and uneasy feeling. There is no preparing.

They aren't fun. Even small ones.

This is either a troll post or you're completely ignorant.
Save this post for the sub 5.0 earthquakes in Oklahoma. It makes as much sense discussing a 7.0 in Alaska as it does when discussing an earthquake in Haiti.
