can they really get a conviction on this?

i have no idea b/c it's a foreign state with different criminal acts. this is a patently absurd charge, though

I agree 100% with you. She shouldn't be charged with anything. The boy should've sought mental illness help or any kind of help. Sad he took his own life though.

So if you are not physically with someone committing the suicide what she said is irrelevant?

I'll tell that to the next person who calls in a fake bomb threat.

If the get a conviction from what was posted in the article it will set HORRIBLE prescedent. Where does it end if you convict her for telling him to "do it".

Will you get convicted of manslaughter if you don't report to the authorities that someone is depressed?

No way she is convicted.

Supporting suicide like she did clearly was a big factor in him committing suicide.

How does one tell another to just kill himself like that?
You imagine if he was your son and someone sent those texts?

irrelevant is not the standard. if she's not assisting his suicide, then i can't see how it's a crime involving the killing of another

oh it's clear she wanted him to kill himself, so i don't see how a fake bomb threat is comparable

Both are free speech right?

She didn't actually kill him and she didn't actually plant a bomb.

If she tells local police she planted a bomb and there is no bomb she will get arrested for obstruction of justice. If there is a bomb it will be a lot more serious.

Good point about bomb threat.
If someone calls one in and a person is killed in the ensuing evacuation the caller gets charged with no less than man slaughter

This is an open and shuit case. Her actions directly led to his desth

who said anything about "free speech"?

you are literally creating an argument that nobody is making and then crafting your "gotcha" response

she never threatened to kill him, either

there is a law against that, just as there is a law if you threaten to plant a bomb

So if I tell some trick to "go get fricked", and she does just that, happens to get preggers, am I to blame? Am I the one that has to play daddy?

Just because Im an arse doesn't make me responsible for her actions.

Wouldn't be surprised to find out that this kid had been talking about it and it was taken as a cry for attention. I've told someone I can get you help or you can actually do this. Make a choice.

explain how she facilitated the boy's suicide, please

it seems like he took care of his suicide himself. a very sad situation that i am far too familiar with, but all his own choice/action

Hold up, so by me telling a person who has a pistol to go ahead and shoot themselves is manslaughter?

That's total BS. I'm not the one pulling the trigger. I'm not forcing the guy to out the guy to his head.
