I've had my personal number for a while and it's very easy to remember, for me and others who call me.

Recently, I used Sideline (app) to secure an easier telephone number that could be ported over to a wireless phone or landline, providing I paid the small fee. This was when Sideline was free to use.

Since then, Sideline has moved to a subscription based model. And I'm not sure if what I did with them in the past is still allowed today (hard to make contact with them, as they are an e-mail based company and response time is slow).

Does anyone know of another app that will allow you to pick from a certain block of numbers and then port it over?

I figured this would be the best place to ask, since many $30K millionaires on here have a side piece or two and have a "burner" number built into their phones.

So, what is the equivalent to Sideline?

I ask this question, because many landline and mobile providers don't allow a customer to "select" their phone number any longer (they used to back in the day, if it was available). So using Sideline in the past allowed for a "work-around" so to speak.

That may be an option. How many numbers and/or different tries does a person get in order to select a phone number?

When you sign up it'll ask your location or zip code and available numbers in that area will pop up, then you just pick the one you find the easiest to remember

I have literally the easiest number in the world to remember. I won't post the actual number, but it's a 504 number, then the same digit 3 times, followed by a two digit number repeating (ex. 504-666-2424). I've had it for over 8 years.

Nobody remembers that shite. 3 numbers total, plus a well known area code. Nobody has ever remembered it. With cell phones, nobody will remember any number, ever again. Don't worry about it. It's pointless.

Stop drinking and partying too much? I can literally remember my father's phone number from the age of 6 (33 years ago). Seven digits are not that hard to remember for regurlar use numbers.

They're not, if you have to memorize them. And physically dialing them helps cement the memory. But these days the numbers are put in a cell phone and never looked at again.

That's why I can remember numbers of folks I "dialed" decades ago, but I barely know my own cell number now.

Get a number that can be expressed as a word. Ever notice that a lot of radio commercials tell you to call 1-800-4-Tigers or something like that?

Your current number may spell something. Google "what does my phone number spell" and enter in any of the several sites that will check it. Unfortunately, none of my numbers spell anything memorable.
