How to make Punks slow down when driving through your neighborhood.

How's the OT do it?? I almost whipped the shite out of some little punk this weekend for hauling arse down my street and almost running over my son. My son seen him coming so stopped his bike on the shoulder to let him pass, and the little punk swayed way over the center line not paying attention almost hitting my son. I chased him down and put the fear of god in him, but if it happens again I'm afraid I won't be so calm. I live on a dead end that alot of young kids ride their bikes on and play on. How would the OT stop these young punks from hauling arse without getting put in jail

Speed bump or if its always around a certain time have an officer sit on the road.

This would probably get the most immediate results, and you don't have to worry about bringing in the cops/county/HOA.

I live on a culdesac and have people use it as a quick turn around sometimes. If we have a lot of kids out, or a party or something, we just park a car to make it harder to enter the street.
The street that feed my street has people that do 40 on it (20mph limit) We used to throw big sticks in the street to slow people down as kids.

honestly, if you live in an incorporated area, there may be street calming ordinances that will require a study before just placing speed control devices (speed bumps, stops, etc.).
If not and you can bend the governing municipality's ear, have them put in a SPEED CUSHION. Much more effective.

Speed bumps are going to be a tough task. Emergency vehicles have a problem with them as they have to slow down to almost a stop to cross them.

Speed bump(s) is the best route... Call and hound the city council
Also ask for more signage like the ones that say kids at play and stuff

He was just visiting, wifes seen him a few times prior. He slowed down when he left and waved. I think he got the message, but there are a few teenagers that live down the street and it's typically their buddies that haul arse. I told the wife I was going to get a sign put in the yard....
