I need to sell a townhome quickly. It needs floors, paint and minor other repairs. I live in FL now, so this will be pretty unsupervised. Does anyone have any advice other than Google and throwing a dart at the list of names?

A friend of mine uses Angie's list and has had good results. She's not in BR though.

I think they have sites like Angie's List and Home Advisor that are basically the yelps of this type of business.

Didn't Angie's List get caught taking payoffs to remove negative reviews? I'm not 100% sure but I thought I remembered seeing that.

I have no clue but that's typical of any sites that have reviews. I have the option to do it myself at work but we just don't. I would usually say I'm totally against this practice but I see what internet reviews are like. They can be so off base that you have to be able to protect yourself from very blatant attacks.

never do this!

realtors are sales, they only do things for kick backs.

it'll be her friend/relative or someone she gets something from. She'll use non-quantifiable sales words like trustworthy, and try to scare you about lower priced options.

Agree that online reviews are a problem. There are dishonest people who use them to try to extort free products or services.

I just remember hearing something about a scandal where they basically took bribes to suppress complaints, as opposed to removing negative reviews that were provably false.

Had Kyle David Construction come and add a carport on my home. He did AMAZING work and fixed the issues the first contractor sucked at.
