Anyone know how to do it? I've tried multiple numbers, gotten multiple computers. When I finally thought I may reach an actual human it said the call volume was too high and to try back later. This was days ago but I'm going to try again today and don't want to waste hours of my life.

You're better off being first in line at your local office. Then you can have the satisfaction of not getting helped in person.

Good luck. I'm in the process of refinancing my home and I needed transcripts of my returns. I spent 1 hour and 40 minutes on hold waiting for someone to send me my transcripts. I couldnt do it online because I'm locked out.

I'd rather talk to a computer than someone who actually made a conscious decision to work at the IRS

Walk up to their offices with a burning torch.

Ha. Yea probably too true. I think I will go to their office, I just can't imagine I'll get in and out of there during my lunch break but we'll see. Basically I haven't gotten my tax return back (did taxes in January). I just need to explain my situation to a real person. Just thinking about trying to call the IRS again makes me mad.

Can you still leave your information and they will call you?

Maybe there is a number to do that, but I haven't found it yet. I just got frustrated and stopped trying honestly. Now that I'm trying to buy a mountain bike, I have more motivation to try and get to the bottom of this shite.

Hit #2 or #8 for Spanish. Real people pick right up.

Been doing it for years with credit cards and shite. Some are 2 and some who thought they were clever started 8 ( ocho) for Spanish.

Now why do you assume real people work at the IRS?

Good luck. They'll probably hit you with an audit to make it worth their while.

They say taxes are due April 15th, but they are really due July 27th. Don't ask me how I know.

Ahh this is the first real piece of advice in this thread. I haven't tried this yet but it makes sense.

Call their system.
1 for English. Listen to the crap.
At each step, wait for each menu to start but don't listen to the whole thing & press
2
1
4
2
Enter your SS#
1 - for, was this a ss#
1 - for, was this the correct #
Let the next message repeat 3-4
times. Operator will answer.

Ask to speak to some one about your account's transcripts.

You'll be connected to a human.

Call 911.

They're all govt agencies and have to help you if you ask.

Most people don't know this.
