Not to mention the west coast is covered in dense forests, tall mountains, and once you get past that a huge desert. Good luck to any large invading force going through all that.

Lol. It would be impossible because of our Navy.
But given the stipulation of taking Navy out of the equation (which is ridiculous), they could in theory take over a city but the us could easily mobilize and they wouldn't spread far. The entire Air Force would be up in minutes.

Not to mention outside of the major cities (and really within them), the people in the West Coast states tend to be pretty well armed. Also the West Coast is heavily mountainous and would be very easy to cut off any of their routes on going inland.

It's not hard to blow up a bridge and then go to town on them. The Eisenhower highway system is very easy to frick up and keep them from going inland. They use the highway system, then they'll inevitably be sitting ducks just waiting for us to blow the shite out of them. You're listing an advantage.

Seriously, they're on a 20 foot wide passage. They all go in single file, and they're fricked. They couldn't make it out of the LA Freeway with that strategy, nevertheless march across the country.
