How should I clean a metal sign?

I have a sign for my business that I want to redo. I have stripped all the lettering off and I want to clean the white paint. I've sanded it down but now not sure what product to get it prepped for primer. Naptha? Mineral Spirits?

Spray some aircraft paint removal on it. It will bring it down to bare metal. Prime then paint. Autozone has it.

You can simply use vinegar and water.
But yes you can use mineral spirits as this is not too aggressive and you likely have an acrylic enamel on a metal sign anyway.

Yes.
Do you know how much companies pay for marketing? We are willing to give you that for free. Exposure and visibility are key.

the ghosting left by the old lettering will likely require a new paint job on the metal.
